Hi there!

My name is Joyce. It is so great of you to visit!

I am a Florida native who believes in the power of living a mindful life.

For as long as I can remember, I have had an unusual, to some, view and way of being. Nothing that has offended too many, as far as I know...

I have led a life where, as a child, I spent time hugging trees and wondering when I would learn to make bread so that I can trade with my neighbors and save the planet by using fewer fossil fuels, amongst other “necessary” evils.

I come from a family that enjoys movement and comes together around food, music, dance, hair and much more. I am one of the lucky members with two left feet which… has led me to dance anyway but also to find methods of movement that suit me and help me create balance within myself.

I chose the name Breathe with Joyce because I have found that, although breathing is something many of us can do automatically, without thought- it is also something that we have control of and, too often, we forget to fully do. When I consider all of the people in my life, the phone calls, the medical care and I imagine the people across the globe, who have suffered from one thing or another… breathing is often a direct link to preventative care.

In a conversation or a memorable moment where we are left wishing we had not said or done something… what a slow, mindful breathe could have done.

So, if all you learn about me is the name of the work I am sharing, I am happy because you will have been reminded to breathe.

When I am not teaching, you will usually find me in the garden, crocheting or brunching. Some of my favorite ways I stay mindful and connected. Brunch is fun and my favorite early afternoon ritual - one I hope to further write about some day. There is just something about having a nice, refreshing meal and enjoying the outdoors (preferably). My hope is that this space helps you do the same: breathe a little deeper, move a little slower, and find new ways to care for yourself.

This space is here for me to share and learn, with and from you. I look forward to that and much more.

I wish you well,
